What is Dijkstra's Algorithm? - Easy Theory
Easy Theory
Here we present Dijkstra's algorithm, which is a generalization of breadth-first search in which we incorporate weights into the graph (nonnegative weights). BFS does not work as intended, but we arrive at a shortest-path algorithm that follows the same idea as BFS by "exploring" the least-cost edge "out" of the set of vertices currently seen.
