Making an 8 Claw Rex Collet and Underbezel

8 claw rex style collets can be found often in people jewellery collections. Workings as a jeweller it may be needed to hand make one to recue a worn out ring. You will definitely be wanting to replace the underbezel also.

Making the underbezel like this in the video is something I started doing in the later years of my career. I was taught to turn up a small ring from square wire. That's fiddly and time consuming though. Just cut out a circle from sheet and leave it like that until the ring is complete. While its in the shank you can easily drill it out to what ever size hole looks best.
