How to Make a Fake Analog Dial Display with Steppers
Dirk Herrendoerfer
A short intro to a way of making cool looking analog dial displays using cheap Stepper Motors and 3D printed parts.
By using a notch & index method to limit the travel of an indicator dial you can build a very simple display that can reset itself by moving into a hard stop limit and stalling the driving stepper. This makes for a very versatile display with almost no extra mechanics required.
