Regenerative Farming Conversation with Mollie

Mollie Engelhart is the owner of Sovereignty Ranch in Bandera, Texas, where Confluence 2023 was held. I was honoured to stay for a few days after the event and took the opportunity to speak to Mollie and share her vision for her farm to help inspire other people who want to be or at least move towards becoming self-sufficient with respect to food.

Mollie shared the meaning of regenerative agriculture and the importance of caring for the soil to support the microbiology of the land for quality food to be grown. She also shared the other facilities that the farm offers, which include:

• An event space, whether for private or public events
• Homesteading courses, the first of which will run in March 2024
• Quality food - Mollie and her husband are both chefs
• A brewery, which - at the time of recording in October 2023 - is in the process of being built
• Airbnb hospitality
