Purifying DNA on a giant scale
David Ishee
This is a my first Gigaprep of the follistatin344 gene therapy DNA (my DiHAC-FST5 construct).
A gigapreps is a protocol that allows you to purify huge amounts of DNA from bacteria all at once. These bacteria have been genetically engineered to make huge amounts of the human follistatin gene, and that's the DNA I'm purifying.
These cell pellets are from my last bioreactor run, they are 3/4 of the total cells produced in a 10L bioreactor run. I produced 4 pellets and already used 1 of them.
This is part of my human DIY gene therapy project, you can see more about it here. https://youtu.be/fpo0YcvgsDE
