Genetically modified super mice
David Ishee
These mice are a part of my gene therapy project. They've been genetically modified with a custom gene therapy that enhances their fitness and extends their lifespans. The gene they've been given is the human follistatin gene expressing the 344 isoform. This is part of the testing for eventually transitioning to dogs and myself. There are more videos on this channel that show all the steps to develop and test it to this point over the last three years.
The next step is already up on my Patreon page and I keep Patreon a month ahead of public youtube.

The follistatin gene makes several versions of the follistatin hormone called isoforms that have similar but different functions based on their structure. The 344 isoform is the form that's excreted from cells into the bloodstream to become the 315 isoform. Once in the blood stream follistatin 315 is a free floating hormone that binds to and inhibits the activity of several other hormones and some receptors involved in a variety of bodily functions. It effects hormones that effect everything from muscle atrophy like myostatin, to inflammation like activin to fertility like FSH.
The net effect in most animals is larger muscles, lower body fat, lower inflammation and increased heart health. There is a negative effect on fertility in some cases.
Before people ask, injecting something with follistatin 344 itself won't do anything. Follistatin 344 is only the form that protein has inside the cells not in the bloodstream. The follistatin 344 gene will instruct cells to make follistatin 344 and excrete follistatin 315 into the bloodstream. Only animal cells can properly make follistatin 315. So buying some follistatin 344 from a peptide manufacturer online and injecting yourself with it won't do anything but cost you money because they use bacteria to make an improperly glycosylated version of the wrong isoform of follistatin with HIS tags added. If you don't understand why that's a problem you shouldn't be injecting yourself with stuff.
There is a fundamental difference between injecting yourself with an incorrectly made hormone and changing your gene expression. The name of the construct used is DiHAC-FST5.
