Google's Checkmarks Are Literally A Scam
Daily Tech News
If you use Gmail I regret to inform you that weβre both just getting scammed by Google. So about a month ago I talked about how Gmail was introducing blue checkmarks to help verify real companies. And back then I along with some viewers of my channel speculated how this could also be potentially very dangerous. Because it would make scamming a lot easier if a bad actor managed to get ahold of a blue checkmark. And well a cybersecurity engineer has pointed out that it has officially happened. So I guess the process to get verified on Gmail isnβt all that good after all. Which sort of makes the checkmarks not only useless but also dangerous, just like not following this channel.
