The topic of wolf reintroduction is one that's entering increasingly into the public mind and discourse in Ireland.
This reflects the broader trend in Europe and globally of growing interest in the reintroduction of apex predators to landscapes, and 'rewilding', more generally.
There is a growing desire in humanity to restore nature to full health and character as much as possible.
Obstacles to predator reintroduction mostly come in the form of farming, livestock (i.e. animal agriculture), lack of habitat, and public fear of predators in the landscape, fear for children's and pet's safety, etc.
I believe that we have far, far more to gain than we stand to lose by reintroducing predators to our landscapes.

Far, far, far, less land is required to feed the planet when we are consuming fruits, vegetables, and crops, as most of the land used for growing crops today is used for feeding animals, so we can then eat their flesh.
As the world shifts towards plant-based eating, much land will be spared and rewilded, as we will need far less. There will also be l ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ue6cur5L4jE
