40mm M1006 non-lethal round in a M203 grenade launcher
ChevTec Group
Firing a new m1006 non-lethal anti-personnel round through my NFA registered M203 grenade launcher. These rounds are quite fun and fly fast and straight. They launch using a standard m781 blank and m212 cartridge case, although the factory rounds come with a modified case that has an aluminum insert for the blank.
These rounds are quite loud compared to most m203 rounds with very low recoil. I suspect that is due to the very light projectile weight combined with the standard m9 propellant load. When fired into soft targets, these projectiles are readily re-useable. In this instance I hit my steel swinging target and crushed the green foam/rubber tip of the projectile. The base of the projectile seems to still be useable and I will likely glue on a different tip.
