Writing a Linux man page is actually incredibly simple, now I know that there are more ways to write a man page than just using the macro package that I used with troff, however I'm not here to talk to you about the BSD method using doc. Troff might look a little intimidating to start with but it's actually fairly simple and it makes a lot of sense when you start writing it, the most important thing to remember about writing a man page is to be consistent with existing documentation otherwise it ruins the point of even writing it.
