Linux Kernal Dev Claims That Hyper-Threading Is A Security Threat (Spectre Exploit 2019)

The Spectre and Meltdown exploits are hardware targeted attacks that exploit the branch prediction properties of modern CPUs and Greg Kroah-Hartman (maintainer of the stable Linux kernal branch) claims that hyper-threading should be disabled as a security measure. However he was not the first in the open source community to make this claim, last year the founder of OpenBSD also came out and said something very similiar.
