A Guide To Vim Macros With Vim Script

Usually I don't use Vim for programming but being able to setup macros when I'm writing Latex, Markdown or various other markup/text formatting languages makes the process much easier. Instead of just using someone else's plugin that makes use of their perfect configuration why don't you write your own macros so that you can make use of a system customised to your usage.
