your Windows 7 or Windows 8 password, we need a genuine windows disk in order to
do this, so let's begin
we need to boot from the disk and then we have to select 'repair your computer'
and then 'troubleshoot', 'advanced options' and then 'command prompt'
in command prompt we type 'diskpart' without spaces
'diskpart' is used to find out our current Windows letter,
the letter of the disk, so we say 'list volume' and here we can see
that our volume has the letter 'D:'
that's where Windows is installed, then we can exit
and now we type 'cd' 'cd' stands for change directory or current directory
we need to change our directory to our 'windows\system32' folder
in 'system32' we need to rename 2 files
we rename 'utilman.exe' to 'utilman2.exe' or any other name you would like,
just to reserve the file for now and then we rename 'cmd.exe' to 'utilman.exe'
and now we can exit and then restart, this time we don't boot from the disk as we
need to reset the password in Windows, as you can see, I have forgotten
my current password, so we need to click on the bottom left icon,
and then a command prompt appears, we type 'net user' to see
all our current users, as you can see my username is 'Windows'
so we type 'net user windows (password)' and a new password that you would like
I have chosen '1290' as my new password and press enter
and we are done and then we can exit, so let's try our new password, '1290'
you can see that's the password, and then enter, and there you are, you have unlocked your pc
now we need to boot from the disk again and
rename those files, 'repair your computer', 'troubleshoot' 'advanced options'
'command prompt', then we change our directory
'cd /D d:\windows\system32' and then 'ren', 'ren' stands for rename
'utilman.exe' back to 'cmd.exe' and then 'utilman2.exe' back to it's original name 'utilman.exe'
then we exit, then we restart
let's try the password again, '1290', enter
Thanks for watching guys and enjoy.
