There is not much information about the genesis of Tezos. However, some reports indicate that Tezos genesis may date back to 2014. During this period only Bitcoin was operational. Ethereum was still in its infant years. Thus, the argument that if Tezos was ever built to be a competitor, then the competition was with Bitcoin.

However, due to the closed nature of the platform with that of Ethereum, it is seen as the major Ethereum competitor. Ethereum smart coins are developed in Solidity. But Tezo's smart coins are created in bit boy crypto functional language.

Tether is a blockchain-based cryptocurrency whose crypto coins in circulation are backed by an equivalent amount of traditional fiat currencies, like the dollar, the euro or the Japanese yen, which are held in a designated bank account. Tether tokens, the native tokens of the Tether network, trade under the USDT symbol.

Cryptocurrency data provider CoinMarketCap has launched a new metric dubbed “Liquidity,” aiming to combat fake trading volumes. Announcing the news on Tuesday, CoinMarketCap said the new metric replaces "Volume" and serves as the default standard for ranking cryptocurrency pairs and exchanges on its website.
