Answer: The pursuit of excessive wealth and dishonest gain is also condemned (1 Timothy chapter 6 verses 9 to 10). Leaders are called to be good stewards of their resources and to use them to serve others, not to indulge in excess. Religious leaders are held to higher standards because they are in positions of trust and influence. Their actions have a significant impact on their followers and the broader community (James chapter 3 verse 1). Leaders who live with integrity and humility provide a positive witness to the world about the transformative power of the Gospel.
