Occam's Razor (and why we use it)

Using everyday examples, I explain WHY we adopt Occam's razor both in day-to-day reasoning and in science.

Parallel to the given everyday example I draw Copernicus' rejection of Ptolemaeus' geocentric model of the solar system on basis of theoretical simplicity. More about the importance of Copernicus' platonism can be read in Vesel's fantastic book from 2014.
