Botnet Builder Kits | Security Research | Rise In Botnet & DDOS Attacks
Avoiding Big Brother
Botnet building kits are easily available to cybercriminals. Many newbies and criminals with limited skills can turn to cybercrime quite easily. This is a major contributing factor to the rise in botnet and DDOS attacks.
The costs to establish a botnet are not as much as you think and that means a low barrier to entry for a newbie cybercriminal. I have produced a second part of this presentation that will be posted on the ABB Patreon page. This video includes a shopping list for a botnet. I thought this would be too risky for YouTube.
Security researchers also monitor the activities of cybercriminals including what they use as part of their infrastructure. Researchers do not just study the attack techniques and malware code used by threat actors. They also need to keep updated on the software, tools, and services that cybercriminals turn to.
This requires constant monitoring of activity on the dark web where cybercriminals mingle and purchase services including advice, training, and consultancy. Yes, the world of cybercrime is turning into a big business. And this a huge problem for companies around the world and the cybersecurity industry.
