Hey guys and welcome back, so I am really excited to get started with AI development ON Android. In my preceding courses, Iv dealt a lot with AI app development on desktop machines and training models like YoloV3, mask rcnn and open pose. But what’s the use if you cant use this intelligence on the go. I mean most of the challenges we face require a mobile or portable solution… and thus our pocket computers are ideal in that sense.

So first I’m going to talk through what you will learn from the series and what exciting projects you can expect to develop. Secondly I will get into the main content of this video for today, and that is on TensorFlow Lite – which as you know,,, is the Googles deep learning framework for on-device inference. Essentially you can build AI apps that run natively on your mobile device. And with growing list of phones with Neural Engines and VPU’s or visual processing units...the performance is slowly approaching that of desktop models.
