A separate video dedicated to just multiplayer aspects of the top down navigation. In the end I decided to make the movement as "vector input" based. so the movement component takes care of the rest. Ot her approaches would be assigning an AI controller that takes orders from our PC controller - so a bit of a cheat. And using the advanced AI nav mesh movement options. We could as well use the simple move to at server side, and fix the terrible animation and no interpolation with a plugin called "smooth sync" that was free for a month. But is not anymore so I didn't want to put people behind a pay wall. This method is not ideal for Moba type game but for hero-centered one is fine. And simple move to works on any single player title. If you would like me to explore other methods of multiplayer approach to top-down controller - let me know in the comments below :)
