FritoLay is a subsidiary of PepsiCo. They have a tremendous presence in the snack food market.
The segment uses multi branding, meaning their products are marketed as individual brands. This gives the illusion that the products are unique.
FritoLay has stated that it owns the top seven brands of salty snacks. Their brand lines include Lay’s, Doritos, Cheetos, Fritos, Sunchips, Tostitos, and Smartfood popcorn. They sell a lot of combo packs and dips as well.
Their products are marketed to make you believe that they’re unique. But is this the case?
