FreeCAD Scale Object - How To Scale Objects - Scale In FreeCAD
AllVisuals4U | Design & Engineering
You can scale objects in FreeCAD with the Draft workbench! This model consists of multiple bodies, so i created a stepfile and saved it as a FreeCAD format. Selecting multiple bodies in the original file gave me some problems with scaling.
First you have to go to the Draft workbench. Then click on the 'Scale' button. It's recommended to select your objects first and then click the button.
Then enter the coordinates where you want to position the scaled model. I enter 0,0,0 here. I didn't use the 'Continue' and 'Copy' feature here, because i couldn't notice the difference. After entering the right coordinates, click on 'Enter point'.
Selecting 'Uniform scaling' will result in the same X,Y and Z scaling factors at once to keep original proportions. Selecting 'Working plane orientation' gave me some wrong proportions, so i leave it unchecked. 'Pick from/to points' is to scale along specific points. I prefer to enter an exact factor. Then you have the choice between creating a clone, modify the original or creating a copy.
