FreeCAD Assembly 2 Install - FreeCAD Assembly Tutorial
AllVisuals4U | CAD & 3D Design
In this video i show you how to install and use the Assembly 2 workbench.
First, you have to download the Assembly 2 workbench here: https://github.com/hamish2014/FreeCAD_assembly2
Click on 'Clone or download' and choose 'Download ZIP'. Extract the folder into the next location: ...\FreeCAD 0.17\Mod
So the Assembly 2 workbench is placed into the Mod folder of your FreeCAd installation.
When you start FreeCAD, the Assembly 2 workbench will be visible. It's very easy to install.
The next thing i show you, is how you can use a part with multiple bodies for assembling. Multiple parts are not allowed to assemble, so you have to clone it as one part.
First you have to create a part and drag all bodies inside it. Then go to the Draft wokbench and click on the clone button. All bodies are cloned as one part now. Delete the original part and save the document as 'Spoke wheel - Draft Clone' for example.
Now you can use your object in the Assembly 2 workbench. The next step is how to assemble in FreeCAD. I show you this in a next FreeCAD tutorial. Thanks for watching! Don't forget to like this video and subscribe to AllVisuals4U for more tutorials!
