FreeCAD SVG Tutorial - SVG To 3D Model - SVG GIMP Export - SVG To STL
AllVisuals4U | Design & Engineering
I created an SVG file in GIMP and made it 3D in FreeCAD!
You can make a picture of something and extrude that in FreeCAD for example. You can use GIMP to create an SVG file of that picture or another image.
Select what you need in GIMP and click on 'To Path' in the 'Select' tab. Then click right mousebutton on the path and export it as an SVG file.
You can import this SVG file in FreeCAD and extrude it as you want. When you finished the 3D model in FreeCAD, you can also export it to an STL file to 3D print it.
This video was recorded in the stable release of FreeCAD 0.18 (2019-04-04). https://www.freecadweb.org This video was recorded in the stable release of GIMP 2.10.8 (2018-11-08).
