3D Printing Thin Walls - 3D Printing Without Vase Mode - 3D Print Tests
AllVisuals4U | CAD & 3D Design
This video is about my test results of printing thin walls with PLA filament without using vase mode.
I discovered to enable random start points for all perimeters instead of optimized for the fastest printing speed. This resulted in less stringing with thin walls and dots all over the print instead of above each other.
It seems that the retraction was too high while printing the first prints. That caused some unfinished prints. The number of outline layers also matter in some cases.
The smaller succcesful prints had the following settings in Simplify3D:
Felix PLA filament | 3600mm/minute (60mm/second) | hotend 185°C | bed 55°C | 250 micron | 0 top layers | 3 bottom layers | 2 outline layers fan 100% | brass nozzle 0.35mm | extrusion width 0.40mm | retraction 1.00mm | extrusion multiplier 1.00 | coasting 0.30mm | wipe distance 5.00mm
