EPROM erasing on the cheap - using an Amtidy phone sterilizer to erase EPROMs reliably.
Adrian's Electronics Blog
In this video I try and erase several EPROM chips of various ages, capacities and brands without using a dedicated EPROM eraser. I also tried an 1970's Intel 8751 microcontroller with an exposed quartz window. I tried sunlight, bright lights etc which didn't work. But there are cheap phone and small object sanitizers; in my case an AmTidy phone and covid mask sanitizer which uses USB-C to kill germs.
Well it turns out UVB-C light at 254nm wavelength just happens to be the same for erasing EPROMS. So this should work right?
