Dash cam install in a CL63 Mercedes. The dash cam can be controlled via a custom developed Android app that is linked to custom hardware via BLE. The dash cam can be turned on/off and set to boot automatically, or not, when the car is turned on.

Installing a dash cam is a pretty simple process. Here are some tips to get you started and hardwired.
Use the power adapter that came with the dash cam. Disassemble and hardwire. Alternatively, purchase your own adapter and hard wire.
Use a fuse tap. There is no need to tap any wires, unless your car is a Mercedes (or other German makes). Generally, Mercedes does not have ACC at the fuse box as components wake up via CAN. This means you would have to use a fuse tap at one of the SAMs or tap the cigarette lighter wiring.
Disassemble the a-pillar and run your wiring behind/around the airbag. Make sure it does not interfere.
Secure wiring with zip ties to existing clips/wiring.
Wrap all wiring in fleece tape to avoid rattles or noise.
Solder all connections. Do not use taps, or other connectors that can rattle loose over time.
Hit the windshield with some rubbing alcohol before using the adhesive mount. Press on the mount firmly and let it sit without the camera for around 10 minutes for the adhesive to start bonding properly. If it's cold, warm up the adhesive with a heat gun.
